‘Best of both’

If you look at our range of wines closely, you might notice that we like light reds, and in particular, we like light reds that are made from a combination of white and red grapes. Here we have another – co-fermented Gamay del Trasimeno (which is nothing to do with Gamay but in fact, a variant of Grenache) and San Colombano - made by ‘garagista’ winemakers the Stoppini family. What makes co-fermented wines so special is the combination of fresh acidity (thanks to the white grape) and earthiness with warmth (thanks to the red grape), producing a light red that it somehow refreshing and cosy at the same time. They can often also be served either chilled or at room temperature, making them year-round wines with so many food pairing options. Ambiguous wines you could say and the Stoppini family would agree, hence the name of this particular light red. Sometimes he tastes like a red, other days more like a white - but always delicious and perfectly in balance. Serve at room temperature or ever so lightly chilled on a warm day. Super small production with just 1,800 made of each wine and each label has been created by a local artist, depicting one of the winemakers.
